The Indian government unveiled its plans to build a 4GW project near Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan, being the largest solar power plant in the world.
Once fully completed, the 4GW project would produce 6000 million kWh per year to the distribution companies of various states through India’s national grid. The power generation capacity of 4 GW is more than double of total solar power generation capacity in India. Being the first project of this scale anywhere in the world, this project is expected to set a trend for large scale solar power development. [emp]
