The Dutch parliament has decided yesterday to cut by 55% the country’s CO2 emissions by 2030. This would mean that the Netherlands would have to close all its coal- fired power plants. The decision taken by the Parliament would bring the Netherlands undoubtedly in line with the Paris Climate Change pact, which has a long-term goal of cutting CO2 levels by 80-95 per cent by 2050.  [emp]

On Thursday September 15, the Nevada Regulators made the decision to allow rooftop solar owners to receive the full retail rate for the solar power they produce, reversing a former decision to lower the net-metering rate on existing systems. 
Sähköyhtiöiden ja TEMin mielestä tällainen on meillä perustuslain vastaista.

UK: Hinkley Pointin jättivoimala rakenteille - takuuhinta 0.11 EUR/kWh

Despite recent rumours that the UK government has been looking for an exit from the controversial Hinkley Point C 3,200 MW nuclear power project, the newly-created Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has now given it the green light.

After “a comprehensive review” which resulted in revisions to its initial agreement with France’s EDF, which will build the power plant, BEIS said the 18 GGBP (21 GEUR) project would proceed. Two-thirds of the project is to be funded by EDF, with China contributing 6 GGBP.

The guaranteed power price of 92.50 GBP/MWh (0.11 EUR/kWh) has not been changed, although concerns have been raised because it exceeds the market rate. A study commissioned by the Financial Times found that EDF and China General Nuclear Corporation (CGN) stand to make as much as 100 billion pounds in revenues from the project over 35 years. [pen]

Tulorajat ARA-asunnoille

Valtioneuvosto on asettanut tulorajat valtion tukemiin vuokra- ja osaomistusasuntoihin pääkaupunkiseudulla. Tulorajat koskevat uusia asukkaita ja niitä asukasvalinnan päätöksiä, jotka tehdään 1.1.2017 lukien. Lisäksi jatkossa myös asuntoa vaihdettaessa tarkistetaan, jäävätkö hakijan tulot nyt asetettujen tulorajojen alle. Asukkaan asema talon perusparannus- ja purkutilanteissa on turvattu, sillä tulot ja varallisuus tarkistetaan vain silloin, kun asunnonvaihto tapahtuu asukkaan omasta tahdosta.

Tulorajat mahdollistavat asunnonsaannin pienituloiselle työssäkäyvälle. Tuloja laskettaessa otetaan huomioon ruokakunnan koko ja siihen kuuluvien lasten määrä. Tulorajat eivät koske erityisryhmille tarkoitettuja asuntoja. Esimerkkejä tulorajoista:

Berner kiistää kaiken

14.10.2015 lvm kansliapäällikkö Harri Pursiainen: "Ministerin pyynnöstä ilmoitan, että Finavia pitää ylimääräisen yhtiökokouksen marraskuun puolivälin tienoilla. Sitä ennen yhtiön ei tule edetä johdannaiskanneasiassa." Eilen min Anne BERNER jälleen kiistää kaiken. Zero Energy vs Zero Emissions

On the surface, it may seem that Net Zero Energy is the most responsible approach to building construction, but we may be missing the point…
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released its findings in September 2015, “A Common Definition for Zero Energy Buildings,” which states that a Zero Energy Building is “an energy-efficient building where, on a source energy basis, the actual annual delivered energy is less than or equal to the on-site renewable exported energy.” The report has no measurement criteria for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and in the report, it states that it “… does not tell the whole story of impacts from resource consumption and emissions associated with the energy use.” There is no further mention of GHG emissions, so in a Net-Zero building, combustion heating, a source of GHG emissions, may be employed.
The real culprit, according to most scientists of which I’m aware, is the GHG emissions, and it’s the reason that the world is collectively crying for emissions reductions. Though reducing energy consumption is important, reduction of GHG emissions is the key factor. The city of Vancouver, Canada, recently announced its intent to bypass energy efficiency standards and get straight to the heart of the matter by adopting the first Zero-Emissions Building plan in North America.  [ren]

Costa Rica: 100 % uusiutuvaa energiaa

Costa Rica ran on 100 % renewable energy for 76 straight days between June and August this year, according to a new report, demonstrating that life without fossil fuels is possible.

For the second year in a row Costa Rica (population 4.9 million) managed to generate all of its electricity needs through hydropower (~80 percent), geothermal (~13 percent), wind (~7 percent) and solar (<1 percent) for 76 straight days, bringing its 2016 total number of all-renewable days to 150.  [ren]

Kruunusillat - Jälleen yksi kiskomaniahanke

Helsingin kaupunginvaltuusto hyväksyi eilen monimutkaisen siltapaketin Laajasalosta Helsingin kantakaupunkiin äänin 63-6. Sillan sanotaan maksavan 259 MEUR, ja se rakennetaan vain ratikkaliikennettä sekä pyöräilijöitä ja jalankulkijoita varten. Apulaiskaup.joht Pekka SAURIn mukaan hanke on taloudellisesti kannattamaton, mutta "kaupunkirakenne ja liikenne perustelevat rakentamisen". Aikaisemman saman johtajan Pekka Korpisen mukaan "sillat yhdistävät Laajasalon (Kruunuvuoren-rannan) psykologisesti kantakaupunkiin" (sic). Tästä löytyy Hesarin juttua hankkeesta.

Koska hanke on kannattamaton, niin kaupunkirakenne ja liikenne nimenomaan eivät perustele sen toteuttamista. Varmaa on, että hankkeen kustannukset nousevat yli puolen miljardin, ja Helsingiltä loppuvat rahat ennen sen valmistumista. Valtion rahaa tämä hanke ei tule saamaan!
