Climate & Clean Air Coalition: USAn ulkoministeri piti esitelmän keskiviikkona 27 Jun 2012 ympäristöasioista. Kaatosade ja salamointi (light bombs) ryyditti puhetta suurlähettilään pihalle pystytetyssä teltassa. Erityisesti hän kertoi uudesta projektistaan Climate & Clean Air Coalition, johon Suomikin on nyt liittymässä. Min Ville NIINISTÖ antoikin ylistävät kiitokset USAn vihreälle leadershipille (sic).
Pollutants that are short-lived in the atmosphere such as methane, black carbon and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) together account for approximately one-third of current global warming, have significant impacts on public health, the environment, and world food productivity. Secretary of State Hillary RODHAM CLINTON 16 Feb 2012 announced the
Climate and Clean Air Coalition to reduce short-lived climate pollutants, a new global initiative to seize the opportunity of realizing concrete benefits on climate, health, food and energy resulting from reducing short-lived climate pollutants. The coalition will focus efforts on reducing black carbon (soot), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and methane. The founding coalition partners are Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, Mexico, Sweden, and the United States, together with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
Note:
In addition to carbon dioxide (Global Warming Potential - GWP = 1), the other five greenhouse gases, methane (IPCC AR4 2007: GWP = 25 over 100 years), nitrous oxides (298), hydrofluorocarbons (14,800), perfluorocarbons (1,430) and sulphur hexa-fluoride (22,800) may be converted to the equivalent CO2.
Solid-State Lighting for electronic walls: USAn suurlähettiläs Bruce J ORECK kertoi rakenteilla olevasta
Innovation Centeristä, joka on osa hänen johtamaansa lähes 100 maassa aktiivista the
League of Green Embassies. Kiinnostava oli hänen näytekappaleen kera esittelemänsä
Solid-State Lighting for electronic walls and ceilings, joka tullaan asentamaan uuteen taloon. Kyseessä on juuri markkinoille tuleva seinäpinnan ja valaistuksen yhdistävä järjestelmä, jonka kehittämisessä on mukana mm Osram.
The ceiling and walls consist of thin LED-lighted panels that snap in and out of a modular electrical grid and provide different lighting distributions, including general, task, accent and decorative. The wall panels are composed of an LED lighting fixture, a controller, and a hook that can be used for electrical connection, which runs at 24V DC. The lighting fixtures are controlled by a wireless switch, and all components are integrated into the wall grid system. The power to the grid is provided from a power module through normal wires. The lighting panel can be placed at any location on the grid. The panel surface seems to be cool and with no heat radiation.
